The most common radon mitigation is an active Sub Slab Vent system. Combined with simple sealing, it is the most cost effective solution for a radon problem. It is so standard that many states have adopted it in their building codes. If your home is in northern NJ and was built after 1991 you may have a passive system that only requires a fan installation to fix the radon in your home.

We have always used a 3rd party lab because we believe it is a conflict of interest for a company to be both a lab and a mitigation company. Now with many mitigation companies owning their own labs frequently the first time a homeowner hears of a radon problem is when they receive a call from someone offering to fix it. We believe the practice of labs using the results obtained from home inspectors tests to solicit jobs is unethical at best.
